IGP orders CID headquarters to assist with investigations

Acting Inspector General of Police, Dr George Akuffo Dampare, requested the Headquarters of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) to provide technical support to the Bono Regional CID to effectively investigate the murder of three people in Abesim in the municipality of Sunyani.

“The murder case involves a certain Richard Appiah, a 28-year-old architect suspected of murdering 12 and 15-year-olds and an as yet unidentified man whose bodies were found in his living quarters in Alaska , near Abesim., Friday August 20, 2021 ”, indicates a press release issued by the police.

A copy of the discharge signed by Deputy Police Commissioner Kwesi Ofori, acting director general of public affairs, said the arrest of Appiah, currently in custody and assisting with investigations, was facilitated by the collaboration of members of the the community.

Dr Dampare, commending the police and the community for the timely arrest of Appiah, urged deepening collaboration between the civilian police and the promotion of peace and security in society.
