Korda sisters Jessica and Nelly will both feature for the U.S. team at the Solheim Cup
US captain Pat Hurst has selected Brittany Altomare, Mina Harigae and Yealimi Noh as his captain’s caps to complete his Solheim Cup roster in Ohio.
Altomare will make his second appearance for Team USA at the Solheim Cup, having won two and halved one of their four games at Gleneagles in 2019, while Harigae and Noh will both make their Solheim Cup debuts.
Harigae has scored five top-10s on the LPGA Tour this season – including a second place finish at the LPGA Marathon Classic – and finished 13th at the AIG Women’s Open, where Noh also notched her fourth top-15 in as many starts in the whole world.

“It was an incredibly difficult decision, but I’m very happy to have Brittany, Mina and Yealimi as a pick for the USA team,” said Hurst. “Brittany have proven to be the best team player in 2019 and really won for us at Gleneagles.
“Mina and Yealimi have played so well over the past two years, and just because they’re Solheim Cup rookies on paper doesn’t mean they’re rookies on the ropes. I have no doubts. that they will be great competitors in Inverness. “
Captain Catriona Matthew is confident in the European team’s chances of retaining the Solheim Cup and becoming the first visiting team to win on American soil since 2013.
The trio join the nine players who automatically qualified for the biennial competition, which will take place September 4-6 in Toledo, Ohio, with seven golfers from the USA Solheim Cup and the other two from the Rolex Women’s World Golf Rankings. .
World number one Nelly Korda, a three-time LPGA Tour winner this season and gold medalist at the Tokyo Olympics, is one of eight selected players for the 14.5-13.5 beaten team in Scotland.

Ally Ewing, Danielle Kang, Megan Khang, Jessica Korda and Lexi Thompson are also back, along with Lizette Salas – who qualified via her world rankings after finishing tied for second at Carnoustie on Sunday.
Austin Ernst appears for the first time since Team USA’s victory in 2017, while Jennifer Kupcho is Team USA’s only rookie among the nine automatic qualifiers.

Hurst has also named four-time Solheim Cup player Stacy Lewis as the US team’s third assistant captain, joining previously announced Angela Stanford and Michelle Wie West. Lewis made four consecutive appearances from 2011 to 2017, before becoming unofficial assistant captain in 2019 after retiring with injury.
“I am truly honored that Pat asked me to be part of Team USA as an assistant captain,” said Lewis. “The opportunity to learn from Pat and the other captains in 2019 was fascinating and while I know I can still keep up with the players, I will always be happy to wear the red, white and blue at the Solheim Cup.”
