Kyle Anderson hit a nine stinger at the 2014 World Championship
Australian darts star Kyle Anderson has died aged 33.
One of eight players to finish nine darts at the PDC World Championship, Anderson turned pro in 2014 and reached the bottom 32 at Alexandra Palace four times.
He won a first ranking title at a players’ championship in August 2017 and won the Auckland Darts Masters a week later.
He also completed a second nine televised darts in the semi-finals of the 2017 European Championship, and was joined by his brother Beau at the Sydney Darts Masters 2013 and the 2014 World Championship.

Anderson returned to his hometown of Perth in 2020 at the start of the coronavirus pandemic and gave up his PDC Tour Card earlier this year, choosing to stay in Australia before the birth of his second child.
“We send our condolences and best wishes to Kyle’s family and friends at these terribly sad times, especially his wife and children,” said PDC Chairman Barry Hearn.
“Kyle’s achievements during his short career have been exceptional, including his victory at the Auckland Darts Masters and a fitting reward for the sacrifices he made to make his dream come true.
“He was a popular player on the tour and his talent and dedication made him an inspiration to other players around the world.”

The Professional Darts Players Association tweeted: “So sad to wake up today to the news of the passing of Kyle Anderson, our heartfelt condolences to all of his family and friends. He will be sorely missed.”
Darts referee Russ Bray said: “I am absolutely devastated to hear that Kyle Anderson has passed. A nicer person than you could wish to meet. A lovely man and a good friend. My thoughts are with his youngster. family. RIP bud, so, so sad. “
Anderson has competed in seven World Championships and seven UK Open, reaching the latter’s quarter-finals in 2016, and has also reached the quarter-finals and semi-finals of the European Championship.
He represented Australia four times at the PDC Darts World Cup alongside Simon Whitlock, reaching the semi-finals of 2018.
