The operation was triggered by an attack in the city on Thursday evening, resulting in the desecration of a 13-year-old girl by armed people suspected of being of Fulani origin. They inflicted cutlass wounds on her and also shot her in her bedroom before dragging her to a nearby bush for their sexual escapade.

Young people in the town vowed on Friday to kill all the Fulani found in the area’s bushes as they protested against the bloody attack, which left the girl and her father, Kwabena Quaye, fighting for their lives in the city. ‘hospital.

Acting Inspector General of Police (IGP) Dr George Akuffo Dampare reportedly spoke on the phone with the victim’s father as he dispatched clinical psychologists to help counsel the victim’s family.

On Saturday, August 28, police said two single-barreled rifles and two shotguns were recovered from the 14 shepherds arrested in the operation.

“49 AA ammunition were also recovered,” said the statement by Acting Director General of ACP Public Affairs Kwesi Ofori.

Meanwhile, he announced a community identification parade “to identify the real suspects of this despicable act on the teenager to face justice.”
