Police in the Eastern Region arrested the man who allegedly murdered his wife and two children and locked them in a room.

Emmanuel Kofi Gafa, 40, was arrested in his hiding place in the farming community of Nyanoa ba.

Eastern Regional Police Command DSP Public Relations Officer Ebenezer Tetteh told Kasapa News the suspect was being transported to New Abirem District Police Command.

“The 40-year-old man suspected of murdering the children and woman in Ntronang on the basis of intelligence was arrested on the basis of a police call made to people who will see him in the vicinity. He was arrested in a village called Nyanoa and as we speak he is being transported to the New Abirem District Police Command.

Patience Kpezle, 38, mother, and her two children – Belinda Nyarko, 13, and Isaac Nyarko Gafa, 11, were found dead in a room in Cashland, a suburb of Akyem Ntronang in the Eastern region , August 24, 2021.

Assembly member for the Mentukwa constituency where the incident occurred, Samuel Dodzi, reported to police that a smell was emerging from a room they suspected of foul play. The police went to said room which was locked from the outside and forced it to open.

The woman and her two children were found dead. They were reportedly killed on Sunday.

The preliminary investigation indicates that her husband Emmanuel Kofi Gafa who was with them disappeared from the house on August 22, 2021, and has not returned since.

The bodies have been transported to the Mamanso community morgue while an investigation continues.
