Ben’s approach in this regard is almost the reversal of how we treat our pets and plants. While we love the use of rattan and want to promote this durable material, the material also exhibits a certain lightness that needs to be balanced by a strong, heavy metal frame to keep your energetic puppy from tipping over! There are some pretty obvious questions about the actual stormwater purification of this plant and hopefully Ben will share more details on how the design is executed soon.
With a collapsible design, the Redminut Dog Water Bottle, designed by Marco Chen & Archer Guan, is a portable travel accessory for dogs and their owners that ensures your dog will never be thirsty. Redminut relies on an articulated folding mechanism that allows the dog water bottle to easily close for storage and expand for use. Once the dog bottle lid is fully extended 180 °, the water is released with the push of a single button on the bottle. Since Redminut’s folding mechanism is so easy to use and transport, it is the perfect travel companion for outdoor activities like afternoons spent at the dog park or long walks around you and from your puppy’s favorite lake. Redminut can also be fully extended and used with one hand, so you can still hold the leash in the other.

In his uploaded YouTube video, A chair made for needy animals Giertz takes us through the construction of both the initial prototype of the chair and its final form. Using Fusion 360, Giertz created a 3D model of the pet chair. The model includes a closed crate, the main dog door, a footrest, stairs and a roof to also serve as a seat for Giertz. Using CNC milling to build the upper seat and chair roof, side walls, stairs and front entrance, Giertz cut vertical ridges along the side walls to bend them around the radius of the chair. After mounting the plywood pieces together to form the intended structure of the prototype, Giertz uses screws to secure them, but the finished prototype saw some improvements. Giertz turned to CNC milling to build the lower part of the chair, this time formed into two sections to fit the CNC bed. On top of the chair’s attached bottom piece, the rest of the CNC milled plywood pieces came together. To help Scraps move up and down the chair steps with more confidence, Giertz reduced the distance between the steps and added a guardrail system to demarcate the stairs, the main seat, and the chair roof.

Migo is the abbreviation for “amigo”, which means “friend” in Spanish. Each component of Migo communicates and connects to each other via Bluetooth, allowing remote interaction between dogs and their owners. The main draw of the system is the collar as it is equipped with a tracking system, temperature sensor, heart rate monitor, audio output and LED flashlight. Owners can also have all eyes on their dog at home with the camera unit that works like a traditional surveillance camera. The camera even comes with a speakerphone so owners can talk to their dogs whenever anxiety levels seem to increase.
