Trade and Industry Minister Alan Kyerematen called for calm after condemning the clash between supporters of the New Patriotic Party at a funeral last weekend.

Last Saturday, NPP supporters believed to belong to the trade minister’s camp were involved in a melee during a funeral in the eastern region’s Suhum constituency with a group believed to be in the vice-minister’s camp. president Dr Mahamudu Bawumia.

Having accidentally discovered the video of the incident and the bloody footage, Alan Kyerematen issued a statement condemning the act.

“The incidence of the reported violent clashes between supporters of our great party, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Suhum constituency of the Eastern region on Saturday August 28, 2021, is most regrettable and must be condemned by all well-meaning patriots. According to him, any disagreement, whether it is related to a competition of position or to differences of ideas and opinions, should not be manifested by such violence in the nuclear power plant.
