The Ghana Education Service in Kumasi said it detected irregularities in the ongoing teacher-laptop program.

According to the GES, the fraud was detected when some people in the district education allegedly submitted names of people not qualified to receive the laptops.

The Service also revealed in a statement that some names had been added with fake staff ID cards and therefore asked principals to be careful of names submitted to the GES.

The GES has given a deadline for district education directors as well as principals to submit an updated list of qualified beneficiaries.

“All district education directors are urged to validate the list that was sent and submit an updated list before the close of work on Tuesday, August 31, 2021,” the statement said.
