UK regulator clears broadcaster over Piers Morgan comments on Meghan

LONDON (Reuters) – Britain’s media regulator ruled that prominent presenter Piers Morgan did not violate the broadcasting code in his criticism of Prince Harry’s wife Meghan on the Little – ITV’s “Good Morning Britain” lunch earlier this year.

The program has drawn more than 41,000 complaints about Morgan’s comments on Meghan’s interview with Oprah Winfrey, including from Meghan herself. Morgan left the show after the row.

“Our decision is that, on the whole, the program contained enough challenges to provide adequate protection and context for its viewers,” Ofcom said in a statement. “The program did not violate Ofcom’s broadcasting code.”
