Man cuts his girlfriend’s hand for alleged infidelity

A middle-aged man, Chibisi Irem, cut off his girlfriend’s hand on Tuesday for allegedly dating another man in Ebonyi.

The incident, it has been learned, took place in the community of Ishieke in the state’s Ebonyi local government area, where the lovers run a restaurant.

Punch Metro investigations revealed that Irem had repeatedly warned his girlfriend Chinyere of his alleged infidelity with another local man and asked her to refrain from dating the man, to no avail.

Miss Chinyere, it was claimed, continued to deal with the man, until issues erupted between her and Irem on Tuesday morning.

Irem allegedly attacked his girlfriend while they were in their restaurant serving customers.

Ebonyi State Command confirmed the incident.

Police public relations officer Loveth Odah said: “Ebonyi State Police are on the trail of a young man named Chibisi Irem, who allegedly attacked his girlfriend with a machete in Isieke. in the Ebonyi local government area.

“The incident occurred as a result of a misunderstanding between the two lovers during a joint managed by them.

“The young girl suffered cuts on her upper arm as a result of the machete attack. The victim was rushed to hospital for medical treatment.
