What happened between Dixie D’Amelio and Griffin Johnson?

The drama surrounding Dixie D’Amelio and Griffin Johnson’s breakup has lasted longer than the relationship itself – and is being picked up again in Hulu’s new reality series The D’Amelio show, in which Dixie refers to it several times.

For those just catching up, Dixie and Griffin dated for a few months before Griffin revealed in a July 2, 2020 YouTube video that he had officially asked Dixie to be his girlfriend. However, Dixie confirmed that they didn’t go their separate ways until a month later in a video chronicling their last date together. “Hey, so we broke up,” Dixie said in the preface to the August 2 video. “But I had this video planned for today, so I’m posting it anyway. It was fun.”

What happened between the two messages was complicated to say the least. On July 6, Tiktok star Chase Hudson, Dixie’s sister’s ex Charli tweeted that Griffin cheated on Dixie with two daughters. Soon after, a TikTok user named Madison Galley threatened to “expose Griffin Johnson”, posting screenshots of the Sway House member DM on Snapchat and claiming to be single. In the days before Dixie posted her video of their last date, she and Griffin also unsubscribed on social media.

About a month later, the exes started talking publicly about their breakup. Griffin claimed in a September 12 video with Bryce Hall that he “did Snapchat with a girl” and jokingly asked her to “send toes,” but denied cheating. (Dixie indirectly responded with tweeting a pic of his own toes the same day). Griffin then doubled down, releasing a track called “Convenient” on which he sang that the cheating allegations were “f * cked up” and hinted that Dixie was dating Noah Beck, another member of the Sway House. (Noah and Dixie denied being more than friends at the time).

Dixie laughed at the song at first, joking to Hollywood Fix that she “[couldn’t] sleep at night, ”but then posted a TikTok video to the tune of“ Convenient ”in which she shared receipts regarding the cheating allegations. Among them were several screenshots, including what appeared to be Griffin’s “clean apology text.[ing] completely up to the task “and admitting to hurting Dixie” in a way that can never be forgiven or forgotten “.

After, Griffin admitted to f * cking up in a September 23 tweet. “I’m not perfect. God knows I’m not even close, but it’s time for others to admit the same,” he wrote. It wasn’t the end of the drama, however. During an appearance in November on the BFF with Josh Richards and Dave Portnoy podcast, Griffin defended himself again by explaining that he responded to a Snapchat DM for a “four or five day period” during which he and Dixie were on hiatus and he felt sad. “I have done my fair share of wrongs,” he conceded. “I should never have texted the girl, I’m not gonna lie, but it was during a weird breakup, I was just kind of screwed up in my head at the time.” Additionally, Dixie eventually started dating Noah about a month after her split from Griffin, but Griffin claimed that a romance between them began before then.

Appearing on the same podcast in May, Dixie explained that she has moved on from the controversial breakup. “It was just a stupid, immature relationship,” she said. “We shouldn’t have been dating in the first place. We were cooler as friends. She added that although she was “no longer friends” with Griffin, she had “no bad blood” with him.

That’s not to say Griffin and Noah’s friendship hasn’t been affected. “I love Noah and I don’t really care about the past. I still consider him a friend of mine, but that definitely puts a weird thing between us in a way, ”Griffin said. People in December. “I wish it was over and I could continue as normal without having to worry about it.”

He may not feel the same after watching The D’Amelio show.
