The ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) national communications director Yaw Buaben Asamoa welcomed the CDD report on corruption involving the Akufo-Addo administration.

The new CDD investigation indicates that a majority of Ghanaians have lost confidence in President Nana Akufo-Addo to fight corruption.

According to the survey, 62% of the 2,400 Ghanaians interviewed by the CDD lack confidence in the government.

“While Ghanaians are divided (48% vs. 48%) over the government’s ability to ensure respect for the rule of law over the next four years, the majority [of them] are not confident in its ability to protect the country’s financial resources (53%) and to fight corruption and official impunity (62%).

But for Yaw Buaben Asamoa, the investigation is rather an indication that Ghanaians have noticed the good work of the government.

Speaking on Peace FM’s “Kokrokoo” on Friday morning, Mr. Buaben Asamoa noted that the government is tackling corruption head-on.

He called on Ghanaians to continue to trust President Akufo-Addo, not to heed the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) which he says has nothing better to offer Ghanaians.

“We know what the NDC can do, nothing!” He said, adding, “We are solving corruption. We are not afraid to say that we are working on it.. Because we are going to provoke it. a major transformation in the country ”.
