The Ghana National School Feeding Caterers Association (GNSFCA) has called on the government to increase school feeding costs by 50 percent, from 1.00 Gh ¢ to 1.50 Gh ¢ pesewas.

GNSFCA public relations officer Caroline Aboagye, who launched the appeal at a press conference in Accra, said it would greatly help caterers prepare sumptuous and more nutritious meals for students.

The PRO said the Association is concerned for the well-being of its members, hence the need for the government to make prompt payment of the second trimester food costs.

She urged processors to work with office managers from different metropolitan, municipal and district (MMDA) assemblies and zone coordinators in different zones to ensure their data was submitted on time to ensure smooth processing. clash.

Ms. Aboagye congratulated President Nana Akufo-Addo and Ms. Adwoa Safo, Minister of Gender, Children and Social Protection, for their timely intervention in the settlement of the first trimester arrears of caterers of the School Feeding Program of Ghana which had brought them relief.

“We, all the executives and members of the Association, are amazed by the timely intervention of the President and the Minister to ensure that the Ministry of Finance releases funds for the payment of caterers despite the upheaval. current economy due to COVID-19. ,” she said.

They applauded the efforts and contributions of Dr Afisah Zakariah, Chief Director of MoGCSP and Dr Gertrude Quarshigah, National Coordinator and GSFP National Secretariat which were essential to the smooth running of the current payment despite the few challenges.

She said the challenges included mismatching Ezwich card numbers, faulty and expired Ezwich cards, and non-payment from the western and western regions of the north, which they hoped would be soon. resolved.

Ms Aboagye said their association was the only catering association registered with the Registrar General’s Department and recognized by the GNSFP Ministry and National Secretariat.

She warned members across the country to get tired of people posing as an association and extorting money from them.
