Kenya declares drought a national disaster | General news

[ad_1]

Kenya’s President Uhuru Kenyatta has declared the current drought a national disaster.

More than a fifth of counties in Kenya are affected, with at least two million people living in drought conditions.

The northern regions of the country have received less than 50% of their average precipitation so far this year.

Many people living in these areas are hungry and the livestock has already started to die.
