Bangtan Sonyeodan aka BTS received one of the prestigious honors of being a resident of South Korea. They were elected presidential envoys for future generations and cultures. BTS received the certificate of the same as well as the diplomatic passport of the Republic of Korea and a fountain pen each. The ceremony took place at the Blue House a few hours ago and BTS i.e.RM (Kim Namjoon), Jin (Kim Seokjin), Suga (Min Yoongi), J-Hope (Jung Hoseok), Jimin (Park Jimin), V (Kim Taehyung), Jungkook (Jeon Jungkook) walked in with President Moon Jae-in. Before the septet received its certificates from the president, they were greeted with a punch. They received their certificates, passport and pen with another first bump in the order mentioned above.
For those not in the know, the diplomatic passport is handed over to South Korea’s nongovernmental officials, who have made significant contributions to the country. It is said that the passport is only given to those who are under 30-35 years old. The passport benefits, it seems, will allow BTS to travel to over 100 countries visa-free. Besides this incredible feat, BTS will accompany South Korean President Moon Jae-in to the 76th United Nations General Assembly to be held later this month. The septet will participate in the “Time for the SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals)” on September 20, where they will deliver a speech. Additionally, Big Hit Music released a statement saying BTS staff and boys have been fully immunized ahead of their overseas schedule and the United Nations Assembly. “The vaccinations were done ahead of our special promotional activities and overseas schedules. We are preparing for new schedules and types of performances. When plans are confirmed, we will share a separate announcement,” the statement said.
