National Democratic Congress (NDC) National President Samuel Ofosu Ampofo took New Patriotic Party (NPP) General Secretary John Boadu to the cleaner after he described it as a big failure.
The NDC chairman’s comment follows a series of press conferences organized by the NPP where John Boadu cast shadows on ex-chairman John Dramani Mahama.
“Former President Mahama and Seth Terkper are known to the public as the worst duo to have been in charge of the Ghanaian economy at the same time,” John Boadu said at one of the press conferences.
In reaction, Samuel Ofosu Ampofo said that John Boadu is incompetent and that is why his party lost so many parliamentary seats in the 2020 general election.
“What I want to say to NPP General Secretary John Boadu, who suddenly tended to wear suits, address press conferences and insult ex-President Mahama, is that he was elected secretary general when the NPP had 169 seats in parliament.
“It failed miserably to protect the 169 seats and it has now fallen to 137 seats. If we are talking about competence and who is able to manage, John Boadu should not come and compare himself to Mr. Mahama, ”said Ofosu Ampofo during a speech in Kumasi during Mahama’s appreciation tour of the region.
Samuel Ofosu Ampofo further noted that John Boadu would have been barred from addressing the press about his incompetence if he was a member of the NPDC party.
“We went to the polls together and we all witness the logistics deployed by the nuclear power plant. We know the huge sums the NPP spent during the election and we also know how much they shared to win votes.
“If you are general secretary and you are given all these things and you lose most of the seats you had and the NPP uses force to declare itself a majority in Parliament.” How does John Boadu dare to insult Mahama. I think he behaved so overwhelmingly that if it was the NDC he wouldn’t have had the chance or the platform to address a press conference on behalf of the party ” , suggested the president of the NDC.
