Investment banking expert and host of Ghana Means Business TV show Nana Fredua Agyemang said President Akufo-Addo’s candidate for Kumasi mayor, Sam Pyne, faces a major challenge.

This obstacle, according to Mr. Agyemang, will be in its ability or not to instill discipline in the political stronghold of the ruling party.

The investment banker cited the canker of construction in the waterways by powerful figures with political affiliation as an example of the obstacles the candidate will face.

“You will really have to look at some of these issues to make sure that politicians or businessmen who may be in the upper echelons of power deal with them and make sure that they are working within the law,” a- he explained on Love FM.

Speaking to David Akuetteh, Nana Fredua said the real test of her management, if confirmed, is dealing with indiscipline in a predominantly NPP city.

The regional secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Sam Pyne, was appointed on Sunday by the chief chairman of the metropolitan executive (MCE) of the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA).

His appointment comes as the city faces the challenges of waste management, unregulated wetland development, which is causing flooding in parts of the city.
