As Nigeria celebrates its 61st anniversary of independence, a leader of the ruling All Progressives Congress party, Comrade Edwin Uhara advised Nigerians to keep hopes for better days alive, saying the country would soon overcome its many challenges.

He advised Nigerians to reject the urge to drink from the cup of bitterness and hatred that the forces against our collective destiny are trying to impose on us, saying: “The day we realized that we are the descendants of Adam who shares the same destiny, hope, aspirations and threats, this is the day when we will begin to appreciate the beauty of each other and embrace the common humanity that we share. ”

He added: “We have come a long way as a nation and there is no amount of rhetoric or divisive action that can tear us apart because Nigeria is an indivisible nation under God.”

While wishing Nigerians a happy independence anniversary, the UN-trained negotiator called for continued prayers and support for President Muhammadu Buhari and his team as they strive to improve the country for all, saying that Nigerians should join Mr. pledge the country is keeping for all of us.
