Covid-19: GHS records 6 additional deaths

The Ghana Health Service (GHS) has recorded six more deaths in three days in its fight against the Covid-19 pandemic.

These losses bring the total death toll to 1,156. As of September 24, the country’s death toll stood at 1,150.

According to GHS on its website, around 3,088 active cases have been recorded in the 16 regions as of September 27.

Of the total active cases, 124 are serious while 43 are said to be critical.

So far, the data presented by the health service to let citizens know about the current situation indicates that the number of active cases registered has decreased.

Main ventilation

In its latest update, 140 new cases were registered, bringing the total of confirmed cases to 127,482.

Currently, the Ghana Health Service has discharged some 123,238 people from its health facilities who have recovered from the virus.

The regions of Greater Accra remain the biggest hot spot for contracting the deadly coronavirus disease.

Members of the general public are therefore urged to continue to adhere to Covid-19 safety protocols in the midst of the vaccination exercise conducted by the Service.

According to the GHS, a total of 1,653,422 Ghanaians have been vaccinated. Of this figure, 786,899 were fully vaccinated.

About 865,422 people received the first dose of AstraZeneca and Sputnik-V vaccine, while 1,101 others received the first dose of Moderna vaccine.
