With the pandemic easing, WWE has been able to put on a (international) road show again – and you know what that means. WWE returns to Saudi Arabia in October for another morally questionable wrestling extravaganza! The company’s performances in Saudi Arabia are mixed: the crowds are often callous and flat, but the match cards are insane. Remember: Saudi Arabia paid so much money to WWE that Shawn Michaels came out of retirement in 2018.
Only a few games are official for Crown Jewel 2021. Roman Reigns defends his Universal Championship against Brock Lesnar, while Becky Lynch’s SmackDown Women’s Championship is up for grabs in a triple threat match. It’s not yet confirmed, but Goldberg will likely face Bobby Lashley on the show. We will update this story as more matches become official.
Start times
With Crown Jewel streaming from Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, the start times will be different from normal. The show will be broadcast 9 a.m. PT / 12 p.m. ET Thursday, October 21. It is 5 p.m. UK time, which is a treat for locals who usually have to wait until midnight to get their fix of grappling. This time it’s the Australians who are struggling the most: Crown Jewel airs at 3 hrs AEDT.
How to watch: Peacock, WWE Network
As you probably know by now, Peacock is the new home for WWE pay-per-views. The WWE Network has basically migrated to NBC’s Peacock streaming service, and that’s where you’ll go to watch Crown Jewel 2021. Peacock has three tiers: Free, Premium, and Premium Plus. To watch WWE content, you will need a Premium Membership. The good news is that it will cost you $ 5 per month, less than the $ 10 for the WWE Network.
If you’re outside of the US, you’ll be watching Crown Jewel 2021 on the WWE Network as usual.
