Capcom unveils limited-time themed costumes for Chun-Li and Ryu from Street Fighter 5 to support the global fight against breast cancer.
October is the month when the world comes together to support the fight against breast cancer. Not only is the battle fought through actual donation campaigns and organizations, but also through video game companies that are celebrating Breast Cancer Awareness Month and genuinely care about the cause. Not being outdone, Capcom recently unveiled two new limited-time themes Street fighter 5 costumes for popular fighting characters Chun-Li and Ryu, the proceeds of which from each purchase will be donated to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.
Capcom isn’t the only video game company to have outfitted their Breast Cancer Awareness Month-themed characters. Many gamers will probably remember the pink Mercy skin from Monitoring, which was able to raise up to $ 10 million when it was released in 2018. This shows that players will likely support purchasing skins and costumes, as long as they know their money will be used for good. With Ryu and Chun-Li being two of the most well-known characters in the street fighter series, it’s no wonder Capcom chose to dress them up for the cause.
On Twitter, the official street fighter announced that the breast cancer awareness-themed costumes for Chun-Li and Ryu will be available on October 12. Several photos of the costumes in action were also shared, showing what the two figures would look like in pink. Another variation of the outfits is done mostly in white, with pink accents, for players who prefer a more subtle look for their fighters. Although there are already a lot of available Street fighter 5 skins for Ryu and Chun-Li, this set is likely to appeal to players who like to support good causes.
The Chun-Li and Ryu Charity Costumes will only be available for purchase on the Street fighter 5 Steam and the PlayStation 4 store pages from October 12 to November 12, 2021. This gives players a month to consider purchasing the skins. Additionally, Capcom has yet to reveal the price of the outfits and whether they can be purchased individually or as a set.
Still, fans will just have to wait a few more days until the outfits are implemented on the PC and console versions of. Street fighter 5. Gamers are likely hoping that Capcom will offer the skins at a reasonable price. This will likely inspire them to support the fight against breast cancer and convince them to complete their shopping.
Street fighter 5 is now available for PC and PlayStation 4.
