Gianluigi Buffon is expected to undergo a medical examination in the coming hours, before being introduced as a new Paris Saint-Germain player on Monday.
The Italian legend had to hang up his gloves at the end of last season, when he finished his 17-year stint with Juventus.
However La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that he will continue his career and sign a one – year contract, with an option for a second, which will see him earn 4 million euros per season with the Giants of Ligue 1.
Buffon will suffer his illness as early as Friday, before being introduced to his new fans on Monday, July 9.
The event should present an illuminated Eiffel Tower, and a presentation at Parc des Princes – a bit like when the club hosted Neymar.
Last season, Buffon played in 21 Serie A appearances for Juventus.
