Prince Mackay
Prince Mackay, CEO of Big Events Ghana, organizer of the annual Radio and Television Personality Awards (RTP), criticized the organizers of the All Africa Music Awards (AFRIMA) for failing to create a single gospel location. the music.
In an interview with Zionfelix, Prince Mackay declared that gospel music was an excellent pillar for the continent and he did not understand why the prize organizers had decided to turn a blind eye to it.
"I was so disappointed that the organizers can not settle for just one place for gospel music … Africa has many of the best gospel acts …" Prince Mackay said.
The boss of Big Events, who launched the jabs in the manner of the organizers of the AFRIMA awards, also invited the ministry to help set up a new awards program for gospel music, which he introduced. Mackay urged the ministry to join us in making this program of African gospel music awards a huge success, as was the case recently for AFRIMA.
He said that what the ministry had done for AFRIMA concerned only secular music and that as such, they should do the same for gospel music by investing in its prices.
Prince Mackay also told Zionfelix that his rewards program had already been launched in Accra. He also revealed that the program has already signed partnership agreements with major media such as the EIB, Praise TV, DSTV and PBN Africa.
The culmination of AFRIMA took place on November 24, 2018 at the Accra International Conference Center (AICC). There were 22 categories for prizes. These categories were: Album of the Year, Best Artist, Duo or Group of the Year in an African Country, Best African DJ, Best African Rapper or lyricist, Most Promising Artist of Africa, Producer of the year, Revelation of the African continent, Song of the year and songwriter of the year and many others, but none for gospel music.
