Second Deputy Speaker of the Parliament, Mr. Alban S.K. Bagbin paid a visit on Monday to the families of the two victims killed by one of his field vehicles in Apam after an accident on Sunday.
The two, who were on an unregistered motorcycle, had an accident with one of Mr. Bagbin's field vehicles, a Nissan Pickup with registration number GT 8265-16.
Accompanied by some past and present leaders of the National Democratic Congress (NEC) and his campaign team, Mr. Bagbin also went to the MTTU (Traffic and Motorized Transport) unit in Winneba District to check the state of progress of investigations.
During the visit to the two bereaved families, Mr. Bagbin offered his condolences and promised to help at the funeral.
The field vehicle reportedly hit and killed the two men on the spot at the Apam crossroads in the central region on Sunday, November 25, 2018.
The deceased were identified as Kwame Acquah, 25, and Emmanuel Awisi, 27. They are all residents of Winneba and their deaths were pronounced upon their arrival at the Winneba hospital.
The vehicle driven by a certain Charles K. Owusu was going to Accra after a visit to Cape Coast.
Upon reaching a stretch of the road between Apam Junction and Winneba Roundabout, the vehicle overturned the two on an unregistered motorcycle.
