MTN hitmaker season 7 winner, OV
The winner of MTN Hitmaker's recent season 7, Okailey Verse, also known as OV, revealed that she had entered the competition without knowing anything about the music.
According to her, the contest was a perfect platform for all underground artists, as it exposes everyone to different things.
"It's a very big platform … I did not want to come to hitmaker but when I arrived, I saw that I did not know anything … so I had to learn . " she said in an interview with Hitz FM, based in Accra.
OV also recognized the fact that the competition was tight and that each competitor was a challenge for her.
"On my first performance, I lost my voice and it was terrible.I thought I was coming home next week … I saw everyone as a competition. "
The new "Microphone Rule" stated that she hoped to include Stonebowy, dancehall artist, in her next song.
OV beat three other contestants (Awal Mohammed, Amakye and Erza Tamaa) to become the second woman to win the MTN Hitmaker contest after Freda Rhymes.
