Teacher. Kwesi Yankah, Minister of State for Higher Education, stressed the rigorous level of work that doctoral candidates had to accomplish before receiving the title of "Doctor".
"The rigor of doctorate work, the high standards expected and the self-discipline it imposes require the candidate to elevate himself to new frontiers of knowledge building.
"It is not surprising, then, that some PhDs are vehemently protesting the unintentional omission of their respective titles or the misapplication of lower titles when they are introduced into official situations," said Professor Yankah. .
False degrees
He explained that this was the reason why holders of fake doctoral degrees were sometimes ridiculed and publicly criticized.
