Kotoko will face Kariobangi Sharks in the second round of the competition
Former Hearts of Oak ace Mohammed Polo has urged Asante Kotoko to intensify preparations for the CAF Confederation Cup, which should face Kariobangi Sharks in the second round of the competition.
The Kenyan side beat Djibouti's ARTA Solar Tuesday 6-1 in the first leg of the preliminary round.
With the offensive prowess presented by the Sharks, Polo was asked to advise the Porcupine warriors to work adequately on their defense before the two sides meet in the next stage, as expected in a general way.
"It's good for Kotoko to know the type of opponents he's going to face in the next round." Even though the number of goals scored in the first leg by Sharks shows how prolific their attack is, we can also say that the opposition they faced also counts., "Polo said for the purpose.
"Given that the Sharks are likely to qualify, Kotoko's defenders have to be cautious and show they are good at keeping them from repeating such a score in Kenya." Kotoko must justify why he was the only club to have had the opportunity to participate in the Caf inter-club competition, "he added.
The first leg of the first round will take place from December 14th to 16th at Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi.
