The veteran actor William Shatner is boldly gone, where no Christmas has yet taken place, with the release of his first festive album, the splendid title entitled Shatner Claus.

His second album of the following year Why not me, It contains the version of "Rudolf, the Red-nosed Reindeer" of former Captain James T. Kirk, which brings a new dimension to the favorite of the holidays. It contains an appearance of Billy Gibbons of ZZ Top, on the track and in this video:

The 87-year-old Canadian Shatner has a long record-breaking tradition alongside his 65-year-old comedian career. At first, huge success of Star Trek, he released the 1968 album The transformed man, on Decca, presenting hilarious idiosyncratic versions and (intentionally or unintentionally) "Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds" and "Mr. Tambourine Man 'among other treats.

In 2004, he followed this series late with Has been, produced and arranged by Ben Folds, with whom he co-wrote most of the material. He also presented memorable versions of Pulp's "Common People" and Brad Paisley's "Real". The friendship with Paisley continued in 2007 with the apparent dazzling appearance of Shatner as father of Jason Alexander in the video of the success "Online".

The following albums were presented by Rick Wakeman, Peter Frampton, Sheryl Crow, Alan Parsons, Vince Gill, Rick Jones of Foreigner, George Duke and many others. The list of actors on Shatner Claus is again an impressive affair, and the track list deserves to be repeated in its entirety, with appearances of Paisley, Wakeman, Henry Rollins, Todd Rundgren, Ian Anderson, Iggy Pop and many others.
