Injured suspect is treated at Korle Bu University Hospital
An alleged leak attempt by two alleged thieves escalated when they fled on a motorcycle after stealing a man's bag.
The two men were hit by a sprinter bus when they attempted to escape to Sakaman Junction, a suburb of Dansoman in Accra.
One of the men who was stunned would have died instantly.
His partner was alive, but his right leg was badly injured.
"At first we did not know they were armed robbers or anything like that … the car hit them and they fell on the road. One of them died instantly and the other was seriously injured, lying in the middle of the road, "eyewitness Richard Abbey told Citi News.
It was after the accident, when the man whose bag had been stolen noticed the alleged thieves.
"A person came and saw his bag on the ground where people were. He added that these had taken his bag so that people suspect that they were armed robbers. The police came to pick them up and she will conduct her investigations, "said Richard Abbey.
The injured suspect has since been taken to Korle Bu University Hospital for treatment by Odokor police.
