Mr. Ofosu-Ampofo made this announcement in Accra with his campaign team when he called Apostle Eric Kwabena Nyamekye, president of the Church of Pentecost at the church's headquarters in Accra, to thank the Church leaders for his victory and the success of his election.

"Before the election, I visited the President of the Church to seek divine guidance and prayers. I am here to thank God and the Church leaders for winning the presidency of the CND, "he said.

Mr. Ofosu-Ampofo, a former church official, said his campaign had started with the Church and that it was not surprising that he had won the elections .

"My campaign team used nine weeks to visit every riding in the country. Sometimes we almost had an accident, but God saved us. The campaign was very hard, but with God, everything happened with success, "he added.

He said he served in the political division of the country for 25 years and thanked God for saving him from any difficult situation.

He was of the opinion that it was possible to combine Christianity and politics, adding that the Church had been a source of encouragement in his political life.

"People think when we do politics; you can not be a committed Christian. I believe that Christians can also bring about change through politics, "he said.

Apostle Nyamekye encouraged Mr. Ofosu-Ampofo to continue to cling to God, saying "with God all things are possible".
