Leonard Cohen Documentary Marianne & Leonard: Words of Love Announced

A new documentary on the love story of Leonard Cohen and Marianne Ihlen will be presented for the first time at the Sundance Film Festival in 2019. It's called Marianne & Leonard: Words of loveand directed by Nick Broomfield. Ihlen is the source of inspiration for some of Cohen's best-known works, including Bird on a Wire and So Long, Marianne. A few days before his death in 2016, Cohen had sent him a letter saying: very soon. Cohen died four months later.

Sundance will also host the world premieres of documentaries about David Crosby and Miles Davis. David Crosby: Remember my name is directed by A.J. Eaton and co-produced by Cameron Crowe. Miles Davis: Birth of the cool is directed by Stanley Nelson. Honey Boy, a film written and performed by Shia LeBeouf and featuring FKA twigs will also premiere.
