TONY BAFFoe Tony Baffoe, Deputy Secretary General of CAF

CAF Deputy Secretary General Tony Baffoe reiterated his belief that former Black Queens captain Adwoa Bayor should have been part of the technical squad for the African Women's Cup of Nations.

The dream of host and winner of the Black Queens in the current competition was broken after scoring only four points out of nine possible to finish third behind Cameroon and Mali in the group A.

In an interview with Happy FM, Baffoe, who also serves as president of the Professional Footballers Association (PFAG), praised the high-level football presented at the tournament.

Although he's 53 years old, he thinks the Black Queens have behaved well, they might have believed if a former player like Adwoa Bayor had been involved in their technical team.

"The tournament has been competitive so far. You could see that no team was dominant in any game. The Queens played very well, but they were not determined enough in front of goal and people like Adwoa Bayor, who saw everything at the highest level, should have been part of the technical team. I heard her talk about Asempa FM and she said she was not called, but sometimes you do not need to call her, you're interested. When I heard her talking, I realized she had a lot to offer, "Baffoe said on Happy FM.

The former Ghana international was appointed Deputy Secretary General of the Confederation of African Football (CAF), responsible for development and competitions, last November.

He has also worked with FIFA as general coordinator for some of his competitions.
