Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia, last Sunday, joined the leaders and people of the traditional Nandom region to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Kakube Festival in Nandom, in the Upper West region.
The Kakube festival is celebrated every year at the end of the agricultural season and to pay tribute to the Almighty for his guidance and protection during the farming season.
It is also an opportunity for the inhabitants of the traditional Nandom region to renew relationships, display their rich culture and traditions and preserve them for future generations.
Speaking on the theme of the festival, "Quality Education and Cultural Integration: Prerequisites for National Development," Vice President Bawumia said the government was committed to ensuring holistic national development, as well as "good citizenship and good citizenship." better access to quality education for people in Ghana through the implementation of ambitious policies and programs.

According to Vice President Bawumia, the implementation of these programs began, among others, by Free High School High School (FSHS) in 2017.

This year, another 180,000 people have been admitted to the SHS program. In total, 270,000 teenagers would otherwise not have had access to education in just two years. Other programs, such as "Planting to feed and create jobs", have allowed Ghana to become self-sufficient in maize and provide subsidized fertilizer and improved seeds for agriculture; and the provision of critical infrastructure to meet sanitation and water supply needs under the Poverty Reduction Infrastructure Program (IPEP) is also underway.
The Vice President, who was the special guest of honor, congratulated the sons and daughters of Nandom for the peace that continues to enjoy the traditional region, and urged them to continue. serve as a platform for its accelerated development.
Vice President Bawumia also congratulated Naa (Dr.) Puo-Uore Chiir VII, Supreme Leader and Chairman of the Traditional Nandom Council, for his effective leadership over the years, which has allowed peace and progress in the traditional field.
