The long awaited moment is about to arrive. Alen Halilovic is ready to debut at San Siro with AC Milan. The coach Gattuso has tried the player as a right midfielder in a 4-4-2 at the training and will do the same today against Dudelange. The manager wants to give Suso a break and, given the disqualification of Castillejo, Halilovic will have a chance.
The player has always been a protagonist of the Croatian Under-21 national taem. He lived almost a double life. He scored goals and helped with his ten nubmer jersey for his country, but at AC Milan, he was almost like a mysterious object, separate from Gattuso's technical project. Now, even in a rather surprising way, the opportunity arises to take off the annoying label, to demonstrate the talent that made Barcelona fall in love with the player a few years ago.
It was Mirabelli's last purchase, while Leonardo and Maldini were never completely convinced by the player and his utility for their projects. This is why the sale in the summer is very likely, almost obvious.
However, the sale of Halilovic could generate an added value for Milan, the player having arrived free from Hamburg (which will receive 20% of a future transfer). It is not impossible to exclude a departure already lent in January and, in this sense, the interest of the Spanish clubs is great. But overall, tonight is an opportunity for Alen: possibly rewrite his story in Italy and continue his history with Milan or at least convince the team's interest in his services.
