The government has asked National Security to investigate allegations of youth threats to blow up oil facilities in the Western region.
The former Energy Minister, Boakye Agyarko, had alleged during the agitation against the military cooperation agreement between Ghana and the United States earlier this year, a conspiracy to blow up oil facilities in the area if government pbades with the agreement.
According to Agyarko, some disgruntled politicians have hired local youth to stir up discontent from oil field operators, just like what is happening in other countries, such as Nigeria.

The minister could not name the so-called politicians who incited youth before he left.
But the minority still demands answers anyway. They want to know who the young people are and want the politicians mentioned by the former minister to be revealed.
They have already said that if Mr. Agyarko's allegations remain groundless, they will remain in history "as the most reckless, unprincipled, destructive and treacherous statements in history against economic progress and the national interests of Ghana ".
However, in Parliament on Thursday, as Joy News's Joseph Opoku Gakpo reports, Emmanuel Buah, former energy minister under the John Mahama government, asked what was being done to avoid the situation if it was true.
Energy Minister Peter Amewu, in his response, said the ministry was aware of the situation and the measures to be taken. are taken to remedy.
