Staff from the Ghana Police Service (GPS) and Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) in the Northern Region embarked on Thursday morning on a route through some of the main streets of Tamale Metropolis.
The march, dubbed the "Operation Show of Force", is one of the measures and actions undertaken by the Regional Security Council (REGSEC) to ensure the proper implementation of the road map for peace in Dagbon.

The march is therefore a proof of preparation on the part of the security agencies before, during and after the last funerary rites of Ya-Na Mahamadu Abdulai and Ya-Na Yakubu Andani II, in the ancient Gbewaa Palace in Yendi again Ya-Na to direct the affairs of the Dagbon Kingdom.

The last funeral rites of Ya-Na Mahamadu Abdulai will take place from 14 to 28 December 2018, while those of Ya Na Andani II will take place from 4 to 19 January 2019.
