Security forces cordoned off the area
A hotel complex is under attack in the Kenyan capital, Nairobi.
At least two explosions followed by sustained gunfire were heard in the Westland neighborhood of the city, which houses the Dusit hotel as well as offices.

Ferdinand Omondi, of the BBC, said the director of the Kenya Criminal Investigations Branch, George Kinoti, was on the scene to direct the operation.
A woman working in a nearby building told the Reuters news agency: "I just started hearing gunshots, and then I started seeing people running up and down the street. hand and some entered the bank to hide. "
