Fire Ataa Mensah
Ebenezer Lartey, a veteran actor from Ghana, known as Ataa Mensah, died at the age of 91.
He died on Tuesday, January 15, 2019, after being admitted last month to Accra Ridge Hospital.
Fire Ataa Mensah, born January 12, 1928 in Accra, began her acting career in 1965, before switching to television from 1970.
He is one of the people who defended the making of movies in Ga dialect.
At the time Saka Acquaye, all dramas and films were then in English, a situation that prompted the late Ataa Mensah to change the phase of the industry by playing Ga.
He starred in the popular Ga drama broadcast on GTV. Most of the scenarios of many GBC dramas and some movies were written by him.
The deceased actor, who lived in Adabraka in Accra with his wife before his death, appealed to the GBC government and management at some point; recognize it and reward it with a succession.
Ataa Mensah was married to Ashie Lartey, who often played the role of his wife in most of his films.
He left 5 children, 25 grandchildren and more than 30 great-grandchildren.
The family has not yet decided on the date of burial.
