On Wednesday night, an 18-year-old mother besieged Ghana's fire department to help rescue her baby, whom she thought was trapped in the Odawna market fire.
The devastated mother, unable to control her emotions, urged the police to save her child, while claiming she paid no attention to him.

According to her, she was fired from her home when her parents noticed that she was pregnant and had to fight in the streets of Accra to survive.

"If anything should happen to my child, I do not know what will happen to me, the baby is stuck in there and the police are talking" nothing, "she cried.

Recounting how the baby got trapped, she explained that the baby was playing with other kids in the market when she decided to go collect money from her husband only for return to the flames of the market.

According to her, the cause of the fire is not known, but she suspects Nigerians who came to live among them at the market.
