Gonzalo Higuain is preparing to sign for Chelsea, reports Sky in Italy
Paul Merson questioned Gonzalo Higuain's pedigree to play a key role in the Premier League before his transfer to Chelsea.
Chelsea has reached an agreement with Juventus to sign the Higuain loan until the end of the season, according to Sky in Italy.
It is understood that the loan could then be extended by 12 months under certain conditions.
Higuain has been loaned by Juventus to AC Milan since the start of the season and Maurizio Sarri – who has worked with him in Napoli – will be looking for him to solve his problem in attack.

However, Merson is not sure that the 31-year-old Argentine international has the information needed to make an instant impact in the Premier League.
"I'm not sure of it," said Merson.
"He was an excellent player, but he has looked below his best lately, he has not been shooting trees for a while, and he is now in the toughest league in the world.
Higuain is currently on loan at AC Milan from Juventus
"He will not have time to adjust either, because he needs to get to work, because Chelsea needs someone to play his center role.
"I prefer someone who has already played in the Premier League and who knows what this league requires."
