The two suspects were arrested in hiding at the Bekwai roundabout
Kumasi police arrested two people who allegedly manufactured and sold fake DV plates.
The suspects, Halidu Issah, 23, and Osei Kwadwo, 47, were arrested in hiding at the Bekwai roundabout in Kumasi.
According to police, both are part of a union that sells vehicle registration plates, also called DV plates.
A research team recovered 24 false DV plates and 24 logbooks in the hideout.
ASP Godwin Ahianyo, a member of the Ashanti Regional Police Force, called on the public to report illegal activities to the police in order to fight crime.
"The general public is invited to monitor people who engage in illegal activities and to inform the police. The effort to fight crime must be counterbalanced by timely public information allowing police to arrest suspects, "he said.
Police are looking for other accomplices in the production and sale of fake DV plates.
Meanwhile, police are seeking public badistance for the arrest of suspects who murdered Okyere Amankwah, a taxi driver in Ninting, in Ashanti Mampong, last week.
Any information on the victim's taxi bearing registration number AC 1205-17 must be reported to the nearest police station.
