Some family members who spoke to Joy News said that the late Ahmed received a call Wednesday night as he was dating community members and his parish was not feeling well.
"… Shortly after leaving our company to take the boy to the hospital, we learned that he had been shot dead by men riding motorbikes," said the population.
When Joy News visited the community on Thursday afternoon, the youths were agitated by the murder and demanded justice for Ahmed.
A cousin of the deceased, Abdul Jalil Yakubu, said the family gave the state authorities an ultimatum for a week to credibly advance the investigation, otherwise they would be forced to react.
"What we need is justice, but when justice fails, we will react … we are fearless, we are Dagombas and we are warriors … so we need justice," he said. he told Maxwell Agbagba of the newspaper Joy News.
Are there suspects?
Although most of the parents who spoke declined to mention names, they said they were turning to a lawmaker who had instigated the public to attack their parent.
But Mr Yakubu categorically mentioned Assin Central MP, Kennedy Agyapong, who called on the public to attack Ahmed and said he would pay for the said attack.
The parliamentarian showed pictures of the reporter and treated him as a bad boy.
Why?
Mr. Agyapong began his attacks on the deceased journalist after Tiger Eye's PI team published an investigative article, Issue 12, which described corruption in Ghanaian football circles.
The MP strongly criticized the methods used by the undercover team to gather their evidence.
He then posted a video entitled "Who Watches the Watchman" in response to article number 12.
Meanwhile, the police went to the community to collect evidence and open investigations.
