He refused, causing an argument during which he hit her before she poured him gasoline and did not fire.
Mr. Purnama died two days after the incident in the eastern regency of Lombok, in the Indonesian province of West Nusa Tenggara.
Lombok East Police Chief, Made Yogi, said that the initial verbal argument between the spouses intensified when Mr. Purnama fell and hit his wife.

Cahyani allegedly seized a can of gasoline and poured the flammable liquid on her husband before burning it with the help of a lighter.
A witness identified as Oji told reporters that he had rushed to the couple's house after spotting the flames and helping them extinguish them.
