The homicide unit of the Criminal Investigation Department of the Ghana Police has resumed investigation for the murder of an undercover investigator within the Tiger Eye investigation company PI.

Ahmed HusseinSuale was shot dead Wednesday in Madina, in the suburbs of Accra, as he was returning home after a meeting with his family.

The man, who is considered the main partner of investigative journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas, was hit three times – twice in the chest and once in the neck. He died instantly.

Tiger Eye PI condemned the horrific murder of the member of his team and called for the immediate opening of investigations to discover the perpetrators of the crime.

The murder shocked the entire nation and while some call the police to investigate this case, others have pointed fingers at the deputy of Assin Central, Kennedy Agyapong.

Mr. Agyapong, many believe that murder is one of the main suspects because he had already threatened to deal with the investigator as a result of his involvement in the investigative documentary number 12 that the 39 PI team from Tiger Eye had sponsored.

Police Public Affairs Director, David Eklu, told Joy News that the testimony of the public, and in particular those who witnessed the incident, was crucial to badisting the investigation.

"The people who have committed this crime have been living in this environment for a while and, as we have already indicated and publish crime prevention tips every week, I think that if anybody had alerted the police, we might have been able to save our colleague.

He hopes that Mr. Agyapong's story and the many other information he has gathered through his preliminary investigations will help the police build a solid case.

ACP Eklu also revealed that after the threats to Ahmed's life as a result of his participation in documentary number 12, a form of police protection was offered to the investigator.
