CHANDIGARH: The Punjab Department of Health has taken preventive measures to counter the outbreak of swine flu. He has set up isolation services in three government medical schools, 22 district hospitals and 41 state subdivision hospitals.

Punjab Health Minister Brahm Mohindra met with senior officials of the department to review state preparedness and measures taken to combat swine flu. The Minister of Health said that free tests were underway at GMC Amritsar, Patiala and PGIMER Chandigarh. All swine flu treatments are free at public hospitals.
He shared that in 2019, 140 suspected cases were tested free of charge and that 60 of these cases proved to be positive. Up to now, seven patients have died in this state. He added that health department teams had visited all patients and that 435 close contacts of these cases had also been treated free of charge.
