Despite all their tears, it now seems that their investments match what the company's CEO, Nana Appiah Mensah, popularly known as NAM1, had used to maintain her burgeoning lifestyle.
If you are in Ghana today and you have not heard of the Menzgold tragedy, you may be the only stranger in Bethlehem.

Unfortunately, this is what brought this nation to its current state of desolation.
Our character leads this nation – consciously or consciously. That's what we've always been.
As long as we do not change, no change in government will bring us enough change.

We are gullible
It's amazing how we can fall for everything, whether educated or not.
The way customers, especially elites, have fallen for a monthly 10% dividend, despite fluctuations in global gold prices, is beyond my imagination.
Menzgold's gold may have been traded somewhere in Jupiter, but if it was not, it was obvious that the activity was not sustainable.
It's a reflection of who we are.
We easily believe in anything with all our heart and soul.
We fall easily for everything on the news.
We believe easily in everything our politicians promise us during the campaign.
Unfortunately, a credulous man always pays dearly for his credulity.
A credulous man is a vulnerable man and he pays dearly for every disappointment due to his vulnerability.
We are failing the search.
We can not find the truth for ourselves.
Fraudsters thrive on African soil, especially in the political and religious realms, because we scarcely badyze what we are told. We want to type "Amen" and receive a million dollars instantly.
We vote for people because they promise us good policies in elections.
Listen, if anything is too good to be true, it is too false to be true!
When you wonder about "sudden wealth", you are an enemy
Every system that can withstand the test of time is one that has a base that has stood the test of time.
Every sustainable business is one that has grown over time, not suddenly.
Sustainable wealth is one that has been built over a period of time, not suddenly.
A sudden success is debatable.
The night harvest is suspect.
However, when some questioned NAM1's source of wealth, many of its beneficiaries found themselves there, calling them haters of its success.
In the church, we are interested only in the offersolites of people without questioning their source. In politics, we do not care about how campaigns are funded.
All we want is our share of the spoils.
No wonder we are where we are today as a people!
We do not care about the details
Whenever the exact details of Menzgold's business model were queried, people erased it.
All customers, in particular, were interested in the return on their investment.
To hell with the details!
We are a people who pay little attention to details and this concerns us in all aspects of our lives.
We grow up hating details with pbadion. There is so much mediocrity in this country because no one cares about details.
We sign contracts without paying attention to
details.
We listen to our leaders with little attention to detail.
Our lack of detail character cost us so much.
We elect leaders we are not supposed to do. Marriages that were to be separated are set up.
Small things, like details, have the greatest influence in life. Details can give red flags.
If anyone had paid attention to the details of Menzgold, his lifetime savings would have been safe today!
We only like the winners
When NAM1 was everywhere, displaying his wealth, he was the most loved.
People named their children after him. Others prayed that God did them as they were.
We loved him literally and his money.
When life suddenly took a U-turn, everyone denied ever having known even its beneficiaries.
A hero yesterday, a villain today.
It refers to a character from Ghanaians – our love has an expiration date.
Asamoah Gyan was loved by everyone when his goals led us into the quarter-finals of the World Cup … until he lost that unforgettable penalty … and that he was the most hated.
If you are a young man / woman doing good work for yourself, do not be fooled by men's praise.
The day you stumble will be the day when all your greatness will be forgotten … and you will be crucified like everyone else!
We bend to money, not to values
In just two years, NAM1 was literally crossing the corridors of power.
He had had the opportunity to enter all the high places of Ghana.
Thanks to his wealth, he had managed to attract the attention of the influential people of this beautiful country.
He was pursued with countless awards and titles. People twice as old called him dad.
It is only in a country like ours that a lifetime award will be given to someone who has been in the limelight for barely two years.
Money can indeed buy and sell just about anything. For us, it buys our conscience and sells our values.
We are a people who bow to money. We are blinded by money. At the sight of it, the name of a man changes.
At the sight of money, our conscience takes a vacation. We remain closed on the truth.
The love of money is the root of all evil and the love we have for those who have money is the root of all hypocrisy!
