The suspect, Christian Agyei
The court of first instance of the TDC TDC has placed in custody the servant of the head of the director of marketing and public relations of the port of Tema badbadinated, Ms. Josephine Asante.
The pretrial detention follows a prosecution's request to allow him to continue his investigations, including examining the suspect's body fluids and badyzing his fingerprints at the forensic police laboratory.
Christian Agyei, 22, is accused of murdering his boss.
Agyei, temporarily charged with murder, has not been pleaded.
The court, chaired by Ms. Akosua A. Adjepong, adjourned the hearing to 31 January 2019.
Short
In presenting the facts, the prosecutor, Inspector Beatrice Ayeh, told the court that the applicant was Mr. Amos Apraku, employee and driver of Ms. Asante, murdered.
She stated that the deceased was living in Block E of the EMEFS estate on the Afienya-Akosombo road with her husband, their 12-year-old son and the suspect.
She added that the deceased's husband had gone to the UK in December 2018, leaving her with the suspect and his son.
According to the prosecution, on January 12 of this year, Ms. Asante attended a meeting organized by the Ghana Ports and Harbors Authority (GPHA) at the clubhouse of senior executives of the Tema community, at number six.
She stated that at approximately 11:30 am, the complainant took her from the party grounds to her home.
However, to Michel Camp, she reportedly said that the driver would have come down and handed the car, a Mercedes Benz sedan, to Ms. Asante so that she could pursue the return journey alone at EMEFS Estates.
According to the prosecutor, the accused met Ms. Asante on her return home. She went to get a plastic bag and went back to her room, but he could not tell the time of his arrival nor was there anyone else with her in the car.
The prosecutor stated that the accused had informed the investigators that around 3:30 last Sunday, he and the son of the deceased had heard an unusual sound in the compound and had gone to check but did not see him. had found nothing and had gone back to bed.
Detective Ayeh however said the suspect had seen a male figure dressed in a black t-shirt and jeans crossing the living room and escaping through the main door.
Discovery
She said that the next morning around 1:30 pm on Sunday, January 13, 2019, the suspect and the deceased's son tried to open the door to Ms. Asante's room, but found her locked and therefore called the complainant.
According to the police, the applicant found the keys to Ms. Asante's room at the entrance to the gate when he arrived in the house. He would have used them to open the deceased's door and found him in a pool of blood.
The prosecutor said investigators badigned to the case after filing the complaint had collected sperm found in her bad, fingerprints and other evidence of evidence at the scene.
According to police investigators, during their checks, the suspect was seen burying a polythene bag containing, after examination, GH 430 and the deceased's wristwatch behind his room, before apprehending him.
