Elvis Botah, Deputy National Organizer of the ruling party, the new patriotic party
The ruling party's national vice-organizer, the new patriotic party, Elvis Botah, has criticized the International Criminal Court for denouncing what he describes as frequent prosecutions against Africans.
The NPP National Vice-Organizer said he looks forward to a day when the ICC will deepen its research on the damaging activities of Western leaders. Otherwise, it will be considered a useless entity and a bulldog without teeth.
He made these comments on Thursday 17 January 2019 on the occasion of Good Morning Africa, the pan-African channel, hosted by Kwame Owusu Danso.
Speaking on Laurent Gbagbo's exoneration by the ICC, Botah criticized the ICC as an "organ" perceptually established as a vindictive mechanism for African leaders who turn out to be gravitas in the United States. some of their transactions against issues for which Western powers have, "he remarked.
In his view, this highlights neo-colonialism in African politics. He also said that although France and its allies played a crucial role in what happened to former Ivorian President Laurent Gbagbo, no Western leader has yet been dragged before the international court.
According to the vehement commentator, the ICC does not seem to defend peace; adding that "the ICC is about to realize that if we do not take care of everyone, the only remaining minimum of integrity will be determined by his determination of Gbagbo's cause". Elvis Botah said that if Western leaders engaging in scandalous transactions are not brought before the ICC, then this court is "useless".
