The United States Mission in Ghana condemned the murder of investigation journalist, Ahmed Hussein-Suale Wednesday night

A message published Friday by the US Embbady on Twitter indicates that the killing is "not only an attack against Suale, but also against the climate of transparency, democratic credibility and freedom of the press of Ghana".

The undercover man who worked with Tiger Eye PI was shot in the chest and once in the neck while driving in Madina, a suburb of the capital, Accra.

The police said they opened an investigation into the matter and called on people with information that could help them in their investigations.

Eyewitnesses said that the attackers took their motorcycle after the attack.

Some civil society organizations and individuals have accused Kennedy Agyapong, a member of Assin Central's parliament, of accusing him of jeopardizing Ahmed's security.

In 2018, the parliamentarian shared pictures of the deceased on his television network and accused him of being a bad boy. He also said that if Ahmed came to the premises, he should be beaten.

Mr. Agyapong dissociated himself from the murder and called the police to investigate the award-winning investigative journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas, who heads the Tiger Eye PI team.

The legislator has constantly criticized the methods adopted by the undercover team to gather their evidence.

Civil society organizations and several Ghanaians have used social media to express their shock at the murder.
