40 police officers from Ghana and 5 other countries leave Somalia

The Acting Police Commissioner of AMISOM lays the medal and hands the certificate to an individual police officer.

In total, forty (40) police officers (IPOs) from countries providing police forces to AMISOM will leave Somalia this week at the end of their tour.

Officers from Ghana, Kenya, Nigeria, Sierra Leone, Uganda and Zambia received medals and certificates of service at a ceremony chaired by the Acting Police Commissioner of the United States. 39, AMISOM, Christine Alalo.

"Your contribution to the provision of international law enforcement standards to Somali police forces deserves to be highlighted and appreciated. You have gone beyond your duty and we congratulate you on your efforts, "Ms. Alalo told police officers who trained and mentored Somali police officers in Mogadishu and their branches.

"We are grateful for the support and collaboration we have received from our Somali counterparts. We leave behind the best law enforcement practices comparable to international standards.

"We are confident that our Somali counterparts are better positioned in dealing with suspects, investigations, conduct and discipline," said Inspector Alvince Osura of Kenya.

Maxwell Chikunguru, Police Operations Coordinator, Daniel Ali Gwambal, Police Coordinator for Reforms and Restructuring, and Leon Ngulube, Acting Police Training Coordinator, were present at the ceremony.
